Accounting Tools for Tutors (ATFT) FAQ

Do I need a credit card to get a password for my 30-day free trial?
No credit card is required to access ATFT for your free 30-day trial. We will email you when your complimentary time is about to expire. Then you can decide if you want to purchase a subscription.

If I decide to purchase during my 30-day free trial, how do I do that?
Near completion of your trial period you will be asked to decide the length of your subscription; one month, six months or one year.  Enter your credit card information and you are done!

How much does ATFT cost? 
ATFT is a monthly subscription service.  The more months you purchase, the more you save.  Our Standard Plan includes all  of the features you will need to operate your business smoothly.  For a small additional fee we offer our Ultimate Plan which will allow your Tutors secure direct access to only their client data base to record their hours.  Additionally, your Accountant can be given secure access to your Financial Reports at tax time (or anytime!).   You simply assign your Tutors and Accountant a password to retrieve the information they need.  Click here for pricing.

How do I upgrade to the Ultimate Plan if I already bought the Standard Plan? 
You can upgrade your subscription at any time.  Simply send an email to support@AccountingToolsForTutors.com and tell us you want to upgrade. We will prorate the additional fee for the balance of your first paid subscription by charging your credit card.  When your subscription comes up for renewal, the Ultimate Plan rates will apply for the entire term of your subscription.

How does Accounting Tools For Tutors work? 
Accounting Tools For Tutors is a comprehensive, user-friendly program that manages the two most important aspects of your business - your people and your money.  You simply enter your database of Clients, Tutors, and Vendors into the system.  You will be able to match tutors with clients, print invoices and tutor checks as well as pay all of your bills. ATFT also provides all of the financial elements you need for your business.  You do not need to purchase a stand-alone accounting program.  With ATFT you can track all of your income, expenses, and profits.  Click here for a complete menu of functions.

Do I need to download any other programs in order to use ATFT? 
Absolutely not!  ATFT is self-contained and there is no need to keep separate records or cumbersome spreadsheets.

Is there a limit as to how many tutors or clients I can load into ATFT?
There is no limit to the amount of information you load into your program.  ATFT is able to accommodate as many tutors and clients as you like, with no additional charges.

Can I print checks directly from this program? 
ATFT allows you to print checks you write to your tutors, clients, vendors, etc.  We recommend a three-part voucher check with matching window envelope.

Is the information I enter secure?
All information is encrypted and secure. Look for the small padlock on the bottom or top of your PC screen.

How do I backup my database in ATFT?
Our programmers backup your information every night.

**How do I get help if I need it while using ATFT?
We highly recommend you use the Help Pages provided on every screen.  You can also click on Support and an email will be sent to support@AccountingToolsForTutors.com.  We will reply within twenty-four hours. 

How do I renew my subscription?
Once you sign up for a subscription to ATFT, your credit card will automatically be charged when your subscription expires for the same amount of time as your original subscription. 

How do I cancel my subscription?
You simply email us at info@AccountingToolsForTutors.com and we will process a cancellation, effective the first day of the proceeding month.

Does ATFT have a payroll section to handle employees’ checks? 
At this time, ATFT does not have an automated payroll system available.  However, since most tutoring companies use independent contractors, their pay checks are easily written from one of your business checking accounts and coded to the Non-employee Compensation expense.

Can I access ATFT when I'm away from my PC?
Yes, since ATFT is an internet-based program you can access your program wherever and whenever you want to if you have a computer and the ability to sign in to the internet.

If I don't want to use ATFT for accounting, is it still a useful product for my business?
Although we highly recommend using ATFT for all of your accounting needs, yes it is still a viable product for managing all of your tutor and client transactions. ATFT gives you the ability to enter every tutor, client, and vendor as well as all of their contact information. You can also match your tutors with clients and vice versa. There are several report functions you can use to print various reports relating to clients and tutors and their scheduled tutoring sessions, etc.
